[He honestly expects her to say yes. She just...doesn't seem like the remorseless serial killer type. But he's asking anyway, because that's what he'd want from someone else if the situation were reversed. He'd want to be held accountable, to have the things he did and the fact that he does feel remorse both acknowledged, rather than everything just blindly ignored in favor of assuming he's a good person.

Maybe that's just him though...maybe he's being cruel, asking that. He doesn't take it back, though, just plans on cheering her back up if this does end up crossing the line.]
